It’s an unfortunate fact of life that accidents happen, products breakdown and things can go horribly wrong - usually at the most inconvenient time. With all this in mind the Techguys have put together a comprehensive range of Whatever Happens services to take away the frustration of these annoying events and take the problem in hand.


If you’re having trouble getting your PC up and running, you can’t get a decent picture on your TV or you’ve accidentally dropped your laptop, Whatever Happens will put it right. And remember, we offer unlimited repairs, or if we can’t fix it we’ll replace it. We hope that your product remains trouble free for years but if it does let you down just call our helpline.

Whatever Happens Support Agreement


Won't I be covered by household insurance?


  • You may not be covered for breakdown caused by mishaps or mechanical breakdown.
  • Portable products may not be covered.
  • There may be a limit or excess to your claim.
  • Your annual premium may increase after you claim.

Can I purchase an extended guarantee or support package from someone else?


Yes. We would recommend that you compare what other companies offer as sometimes they will only cover the cost if your product has a mechanical fault or may not guarantee speed of service.


Can I purchase a Whatever Happens Support Agreement at a later date?


You can buy a Whatever Happens Support Agreement up to one year from buying your product


Does this Support Agreement affect my legal rights?


The contents of the Support Agreement do not affect your legal rights, which include the right to a remedy for defective goods.


If you buy goods which are faulty when sold you have the right to claim for a repair or replacement for up to six years (five in Scotland) from the date of purchase. However, after the first six months you have to show that a fault was there from the start and the longer it takes for the fault to show up the more difficult that becomes.


Whatever Happens gives you benefits that are in addition to your legal rights and you have the assurance that your product will be repaired free of charge if it fails at any time whilst your agreement is current. Further information about your legal rights can be obtained from your local Trading Standards Department, Citizens Advice Bureau or through Consumer Direct.


What happens if you can't fix my product?


If your product is beyond repair, or we can't get the necessary parts and do the repair within 28 days we'll replace it.


If my product is replaced under Whatever Happens is the remainder of my Support Agreement cancelled?


If your product is replaced your 'pay as you go' Support Agreement will end and you can purchase a new Whatever Happens Customer Support Agreement with your replacement product.


If Currys, Currys Digital or PC World ceased to trade, would my product still be protected?


Yes. Our promise is to protect our customers' Whatever Happens Support Agreements. There is an independently managed trust fund to meet all our obligations to our whateverhappens customers.


Cancellation


If you've purchased a Whatever Happens Monthly Support Agreement you can cancel it within 14 days of purchase by calling Whatever Happens Customer Services on 0844 561 4000 and providing the service has not been used we'll give you a refund of any payment made.


After this period you can cancel at anytime by calling Whatever Happens customer services, however you won't be able to get a refund.
