The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 Digital Camera is a groundbreaking Micro
Four Thirds System camera with SLR-like capabilities in a remarkably compact
body. It provides both experienced and beginner photographers with the means to
create high-quality pictures, without the weight and bulk of a conventional
DSLR. This body is offered in stylish silver and is supplied without a lens.
This 12.1 mp camera uses a full-time Live View system to eliminate the need
for a mirror, mirror box, and optical viewfinder. Fast autofocus is nevertheless
available, courtesy of Panasonic's extensive research into high-speed
contrast-detect autofocus. The Lumix DMC-GF1 Digital Camera is slim enough
to take anywhere, yet powerful enough to satisfy even the most sophisticated
photographers!
The camera is built around a Live MOS 4/3 sensor, with a much larger sensor
area than traditional compact cameras. The Lumix DMC-GF1 is therefore
capable of creating highly detailed, low-noise images with realistic colour and
contrast - even in relatively dim light. This camera delivers uncompromising
technical quality, allowing you to explore your creativity without worrying
about your camera lagging!
Composing your photos and videos is a delight on the high-resolution 3-inch LCD
screen, which is also large enough to check your results and share them with
friends.
The interchangeable lens mount allows you to tap into the large and growing
range of Micro Four Thirds lenses available from Panasonic and other
manufacturers such as Olympus. And because the
Panasonic Lumix DMCGF1 also records High Definition 720p movies in the
AVCHD Lite format, you can even shoot top-quality video with great lenses -
resulting in brilliant picture quality!
