Installing large appliances can be a little daunting, especially when they require plumbing or gas connections. KNOWHOW™ has a team of fully trained, Gas Safe (previously Corgi) registered installers around the UK ready and waiting to help you.
KNOWHOW™ installation services are available when you buy a large appliance from Dixons.co.uk

Our installation teams cover most of the UK and will install your new appliance on the day we deliver it. You can sit back and relax knowing that we’ll take care of everything.
We’re sorry but we can’t install integrated (built-in) appliances in Northern Ireland at the moment.
Getting ready for your installation:
There are a few things you need to do before the KNOWHOW™ team arrive to install your appliance:
- Make sure our team can safely access your property and there are no obstructions
- Be at home at the time we’ve arranged to arrive; if you can’t then someone over the age of 18 will need to present
- If you’ve purchased a gas cooker please ensure you have a gas supply close to the site where you’d like your cooker installed
What we can install:
KNOWHOW™ has several types of installation service that cover a range of large appliances in your home. Our services are available when you buy your new appliance from Dixons.co.uk stores or online.
INTEGRATED APPLIANCES
INSTALL & DEMO
If you’re buying a shiny new integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer or integrated washing machine you should certainly consider getting them expertly installed and plumbed in by the KNOWHOW™ team of experts, who will install your appliance to the latest safety standards.
We can also take away and recycle your old cooker for you so you don’t need to worry about how to get rid of it.
Our delivery and installation service is only available when you buy your integrated appliance at Dixons.co.uk .

We have the KNOWHOW™ to install your integrated appliances safely and professionally. Here’s how our service works:
Before we arrive please make sure:- You are at home (or another adult over 18) is at home at the time we’ve agreed to visit
- Make sure we have clear access to the area you want your new product installed, and that it fits in that area
- Make sure you have all the necessary bits and pieces, e.g., connection hoses
- Check that you have the necessary electrical, plumbing and waste connections within 1.5 meters of the installation area
- Deliver your appliance and unpack it for you
- Disconnect your old appliance
- Install your new gas, water or electric appliance
- Make sure the appliance is level and neatly installed
- Test the appliance to ensure there are no leaks or faults
- We’ll give you a demonstration of your new appliance and its settings
- Take your old appliance and packaging away to be recycled if you want us to
WHAT ISN’T COVERED
We want to make sure you know what isn’t covered by our Integrated Appliance Installation service so there are no surprises when we visit you at home:
- Removal of your existing door panel if it is not suitable to be re-attached to your new appliance
- We won’t attempt to connect your appliance if the space is unsuitable
- We can’t connect appliances if there is not sufficient access for ventilation tubes, e.g. tumble dryers.
- Alterations to your existing cabinets
- Alterations to existing connections
We can’t refund this service if:
- You haven’t completed the necessary pre-visit preparations above
- Additional work is required to complete the installation that we don’t cover above

We’ll make sure that your plumbing or electrics are safe when we perform the installation and leave you to enjoy years of happy cooking, starting as soon as we leave.

We have the KNOWHOW™ to plumb in your gas, electric or dual fuel cooker safely and professionally. Here’s how our service works.
Before we arrive please make sure:- You are at home (or another adult over 18) is at home at the time we’ve agreed to visit
- Make sure we have clear access to the area you want your new cooker installed, and that it fits in that area
- Make sure you have all the necessary bits and pieces, e.g., flexible gas connection hoses
- Make sure you have an electrical connection within 1.5 meters of the installation area
- Make sure you have a gas supply within 1.5 meters of the installation area if you have a gas or dual fuel cooker
- Deliver your new cooker and unpack it for you
- Disconnect your old cooker and check the connections are safe to use
- Install your new gas, electric or dual fuel cooker
- Wire the cooker to an existing spur point or control panel and fit protective trunking, or install the fitted plug to an existing socket and protect it with a flexible hose
- Check that gas pipes are sealed correctly (for gas and dual fuel)
- Fit your oven, hob and hood into an existing space
- Our installers are fully qualified and accredited plumbers and electricians
- Carry out a health and safety check to make sure that safety clearance space between your cooker and cabinets are met
- We’ll give you a demonstration of your new cooker and its settings
- Take your old cooker and packaging away to be recycled if you want us to
WHAT ISN’T COVERED

- We can’t connect your new cooker if it puts you or our installer at risk

We can’t claim to make laundry any less of a chore, but we can help make buying and installing your new washing machine or dishwasher completely painless. Our expert installers can come to your home and install your new washing machine or dishwasher, leaving it ready for its first load as soon as we leave - we’ll even take away the old washing machine or dishwasher and its packaging for recycling if you want us to.
Our installation service is only available at the time you buy your new washing machine or dishwasher from Dixons.co.uk, so make sure you also select installation before you compete your order.
Our service
We have the KNOWHOW™ to install your new washing machine or dishwasher safely and professionally. Here’s how our service works:
Before we arrive please make sure:- You are at home (or another adult over 18) at the time we’ve agreed to visit>
- Make sure we have clear access to the area you want your new product installed, and that it will fit into the space provided
- Make sure you have all the necessary bits and pieces, e.g., connection hoses
- Check that you have the necessary electrical, plumbing and waste connections within 1.5 meters of the installation area
- Deliver your washing machine/dishwasher and unpack it for you
- Disconnect your old washing machine/dishwasher
- Check that your existing plumbing and electrical connections are OK and safe to use with your new washing machine/dishwasher
- Install your new washing washing/dishwasher
- Remove any transit bolts
- Make sure the appliance is level and neatly installed
- Test the appliance to ensure there are no leaks or faults
- The installer is a fully accredited plumber and electrician
- We’ll give you a demonstration of your new appliance and its settings
- Take your old washing machine/dishwasher and packaging away to be recycled if you want us to
WHAT ISN’T COVERED
We want to make sure you know what isn’t covered by our Laundry installation service so there are no surprises when we visit you at home. Here’s what we cannot do:
- Plumb two waste pipes into one
- Make any alterations to your existing plumbing or electrical connections
- You have failed to complete the necessary pre-visit preparations explained above
- Any additional work is required to complete the installation that we don’t cover above
FRIDGES AND FREEZERS
INSTALL & DEMO
Let us take away the hassle of getting your brand new fridge, freezer or fridge-freezer up and running. Our expert installers can come to your home and install your new appliance. We’ll even take away the old fridge freezer and the packaging for recycling if you want us to.
Our delivery and installation service is only available at the time you buy your new fridge, freezer or fridge-freezer from Dixons.co.uk, so make sure you also select installation before you complete your order.
Our service

- Make sure you have all the necessary bits and pieces at hand e.g. connection hoses
- Check to make sure that you have the necessary electrical and plumbing connections within 1.5 meters of the installation area
- Deliver your fridge-freezer and unpack it for you
- Evaluate the plumbing connections for water and ice models
- Disconnect your old fridge-freezer
- Install your new fridge-freezer
- Make sure the fridge-freezer is level and neatly installed
- Test the appliance to ensure there are no leaks or faults
- We’ll give you a demonstration of your new appliance and its settings
- Take your old fridge-freezer and packaging away to be recycled if requested
WHAT ISN’T COVERED
We want to make sure you know what isn’t covered by our Fridge and Freezer Installation service so there are no surprises when we visit you at home. Here’s what we cannot do:
- Connect your fridge-freezer to your water supply if there are no water connections within 1.5 metres
- Connect your fridge-freezer if there is no plug socket within 1.5 metres
- Change door positions or make other alterations to your property
- Make alterations to existing connections (electric or plumbing)
- Install appliances in garages or sheds, as refrigeration appliances cannot be guaranteed to function properly in outdoor environments
We cannot offer a refund for this service if:
- You have failed to complete the necessary pre-visit preparations explained above
- Any additional is require to complete the installation that has not been covered by the above
TV SET UP & DEMO
The thrill of buying a brand new TV is amazing, but can be short-lived when you realise you need to tackle a mountain of cables or a cumbersome stand before you can enjoy your purchase. Relax, and let KNOWHOW team of experts get it sorted for you with our TV Set Up & Demo service.
We can come to your home on a day to suit you, assemble your TV stand and get you hooked up ready to view, with all the cabling neatly organised around the back.
Our installation service is only available when you buy a new 40" TV or larger from Dixons.co.uk.
FEATURES
Our TV Set Up & Demo service is all you need to get your new flat screen TV ready for viewing, here’s how the service works:
Before we visit please check the following:- You are at home (or another adult over 18) is at home at the time we’ve agreed to visit
- Check that you have all the parts, screws and other bits and pieces for your TV and stand
- Have all the necessary accessories and cables (SCART, AV, HDMI etc)
- Have a chat with you about how you’d like your new TV setup and offer some advice if you need it
- Unpack your TV and stand then take the packing away for recycling (no need to fill up your recycling bin)
- Build the stand and set your TV on it
- Connect all your devices together and tidy the cables for you
- Demonstrate the main features of your new TV
WHAT ISN’T COVERED
We want to make sure you know what isn’t covered by our TV Set Up & Demo installation service so there are no surprises when we visit you at home:
- We won’t personalise or optimise picture quality
- We can’t connect your TV or other equipment to your home computer network -you will need to purchase our Network Set Up and Secure service for this
- Currently we cannot offer wall mounting services, however, this may change soon!
We can’t refund this service if:

- Additional work is required to complete the installation that we don’t cover above
