Memory

Computers and laptops are smart pieces of kit, but the reality is your machine may become dated or damaged over time, and eventually won’t work as well as it should. Memory is a big area of decline in computers. Over the years, the memory on your computer or laptop may well become less effective or even damaged. There can be lots of reasons for this; heat, dirt, a blocked fan, memory leaks, power surges, dropping them! If so, a memory upgrade could be the answer.
Here at Dixons, we have both desktop memory (DIMM) and laptop memory (SODIMM) upgrades. The great thing about additional memory for your computer is that it is relatively inexpensive and actually pretty easy to install yourself.
How much memory you need depends on what you use your computer for; just browsing the web and running a few programs, probably not too much; 512MB should be plenty. If though, you like gaming, running loads of simultaneous tasks and streaming media, well you probably needed a bigger share; go for 1-2 GB at least.
